We’ll make a modern pajaki. Traditional Polish paper chandeliers are typically made from straw and scrap paper. The literal translation of pajaki is “spiders of straw”. They symbolize a wish for good health and happiness, perfect for the New Year. This paper craft/folk art was popular in the 1800’s. We’ll learn how to make tissue paper flowers and assemble them into a beautiful piece of art. Using wire, straws, poms, and bits of recycled items, we’ll create colorful chandeliers for your own good luck & happiness. We’ll do some rabbit printmaking for the Lunar New Year, inspired by the 2023 Year of the Rabbit.
