We’ll make a pajaki. Traditional Polish paper mobiles (often referred to as a chandelier) are typically made from straw and scrap paper. The literal translation of pajaki is “spiders of straw”. They symbolize a wish for good health and happiness. This paper craft/folk art was popular in the 1800’s. We will learn how to make tissue paper flowers and how to assemble them into a beautiful piece of art. Using wire, straws, and bits of recycled items, we’ll create a colorful paper chandelier to hang for your own good luck and happiness.
